Best Canon lens for travel? I'm looking for a walkaround "all-in-one" lens with a good zoom? - good all in one lens
I have a Canon EOS 5D Mark II and I need a good goal for the trip. I can not have four or five glasses everywhere I go, especially during the holidays, I would like to purchase a lens with good zoom, auto focus and USM. I'm getting to 2.8, but f / 4 is also acceptable.
Oh ... and I would therefore not too expensive. In probably less than $ 1000 (hopefully under $ 1,000, but I know it is not likely)

The Canon 70-200mm f / 4 is a great actor, much better than the budget telephoto zoom. However, unless you plan to do sports and wildlife shots, you must have at least another goal. The Canon 24-70 mm f/2.8 works well, even if, as, I said what the person is a little outside your budget.

Yes, that's pretty good.
I propose another: Tamron AF 28-300mm. It is incredibly cheap in the U.S., about $ 600. Here in Australia is more than a thousand.

The macro is not really a macro ... It is 1:2, not 1:1.

The 70-200 F4L is a lens of regret that not better than a walk around the lens can. This is a telephoto lens, so you lose at the end of the normal angle. For a while on a journey through the lens are few good options. Some within your budget is not certain.
